Santa Wishlist

Built for parents

Safety, in plain words

A Santa chat should feel like magic for your kid and feel safe to you. Here is exactly how Santa Wishlist is built to do that, including the limits.

  • Parent holds the phone

    Your child never chats alone.

  • Every message checked, both ways

Automated filters review what goes in and what comes out.

  • No open chat, no strangers

Santa is the only one on the other end.

  • No ads

Not in the chat, not on the list.

  • Photos stay private

Deleted when you delete your account.

  • Delete anytime

One tap in Settings removes your account.

You hold the phone

Santa Wishlist is made for the moment you are standing next to your child. You open the app, you take the photo, you press send. Your child watches Santa reply, but the account, the settings and the gift list are yours. The app is intended for use by adults with their children, and your child never needs an account of their own.

Every message is checked, both ways

What you send to Santa goes through automated safety filters before a reply is written. What Santa writes back goes through the filters again before it is shown. If a reply is blocked, a safe fallback reply is shown, nothing is added to the list, and you are not charged.

Automated filters are strong but not perfect. That is one more reason the design keeps a parent holding the phone, and why you can report anything odd to the support team.

No open chat, no strangers

Santa is the only one on the other end, and he only talks inside your child's own thread. There is no way to message other people in the app, no friend lists and no public profiles.

Santa also never promises a child a gift. He says the elves are taking a look or that he has made a note, so you stay in charge of what actually gets bought.

No ads

There are no ads in the chat and no ads on the gift list. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your messages or photos to train AI models. Read the full privacy policy.

Photos stay private, and the list is locked

Photos are stored privately and are only shown to you through short-lived links. They are deleted when you delete your account.

The gift list opens with your Parent PIN or Face ID. Your PIN is stored as a one-way hash, wrong guesses are slowed down with timed lockouts, and the list locks itself again after two minutes or when the app goes to the background.

Delete anytime

Open Settings, choose Delete account, and your kid profiles, chats, photos and gift lists are removed. If you no longer have the app, you can ask us by email. See how to delete your account.

About the AI

AI disclosure

Santa's replies are generated by AI and reviewed by automated safety filters. Santa Wishlist is operated by parents, for parents, and is intended for use by adults with their children.

Santa stays in character inside the chat, because that is the magic. Here, outside the chat, we tell you plainly how it works.

What parents are asking

Is Santa Wishlist safe for my child?

Santa Wishlist is built so the parent stays in control. You hold the phone, so your child never chats alone. There is no open chat and no strangers, and every message is checked in both directions by automated safety filters before it is shown. No ads, either.

Is Santa a real person or AI?

Santa's replies are generated by AI and reviewed by automated safety filters. Santa Wishlist is operated by parents, for parents, and is intended for use by adults with their children.

Will Santa promise my child a gift?

No. Santa never promises that a child will receive an item. He says things like "the elves are taking a look" or "I have made a note." You decide what gets bought.

What happens to the photos I send?

Photos stay private. They are stored so Santa can reply and so the item can appear on your list, and they are deleted when you delete your account.

Who can see the gift list?

Only you. The list is locked behind your PIN or Face ID. A curious kid who grabs your phone sees the Santa chat, never the list.

Does my child need an account?

No. You make the one account, as the parent. Your child's name and age are optional, you are the one who enters them, and they are only used to make Santa's replies feel personal.

A reply from Santa looked wrong. How do I report it?

We want to know. Email us with a screenshot and roughly when it happened. Replies pass through automated safety filters, and reports help us tighten them.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, anytime. Open Settings in the app and choose Delete account. That removes your kid profiles, chats, photos and gift lists. Here is how it works.
